Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
Abuse gets IP ranges blocklisted and servers switched off, which harms every customer, so we enforce this policy. It applies to everything on or sent from your server, whoever put it there. Your server must be used lawfully in the country where it is located and in Germany, where our hosting partner is based.
Allowed
When done lawfully, and with permission where it is needed:
- SEO and marketing tools on sites you own or are authorised to manage
- Collecting publicly available data, where the site's terms and robots rules allow it
- Automation and bots operating your own accounts and infrastructure
- Hosting your own websites
- VPNs, remote desktop and development work
We follow our hosting partner’s abuse policy. Our hosting partner may suspend servers for abuse; any reactivation fee is passed to the customer.
Not allowed
- Unsolicited bulk email or messages in any channel, and pages or tools that support spam
- Automated posting of links, comments or content to other people's sites without the operator's permission (spam)
- Evading platform bans, detection systems or fraud controls
- Phishing, malware, credential stuffing, carding or any other fraud
- Denial-of-service attacks, or scanning and brute-forcing systems you are not authorised to test
- Copyright infringement and distributing content you have no right to distribute
- Pornographic or obscene content, and content that incites hatred
- Running IRC servers, or Tor relays or exit nodes
- Scripts or processes that disrupt the network or put heavy strain on shared hardware or bandwidth, such as cryptocurrency mining
- Child sexual abuse material — reported to the authorities without exception
Abuse reports
When we receive a complaint about your server, we forward it to you. You must stop the problem and reply within 12 hours, explaining what you found and what you did to stop it happening again. Copyright (DMCA) notices are handled the same way: remove the content within 12 hours and tell us. If you do not, we suspend the server until it is resolved, and repeated copyright, spam or porn complaints about your servers can end with them being closed without a refund. Activity that is clearly harmful may be suspended straight away. If our hosting partner charges a fee to reactivate a server suspended because of abuse on it, that fee is charged to your balance.
Windows licences
Windows servers are licensed under Microsoft's terms for hosted services, summarised in our Terms of Service. Up to two people may use remote desktop for administration; more users need separate Remote Desktop licences.
Decisions and appeals
We tell you which rule we believe was broken and what we did about it. If you think we got it wrong, reply and a person will look again. Refunds follow our Refund Policy; repeated or serious breaches end the account.
Reporting abuse
Email abuse@hostingbaba.net with the IP address, evidence and times.
