Built the same everywhere

Our servers run in data centres operated by our hosting partner. Every location is built to the same standard:

  • At least two separate fibre connections, from more than one carrier
  • Backup power: UPS units and diesel generators
  • Spare cooling capacity, so one failed unit does not overheat the room
  • CCTV and controlled access to the server rooms
  • Staff on site every day of the year
  • The same server hardware and network equipment in every location

Choosing a location

  • Pick the spot closest to your work. Choose the location nearest the websites, platforms or people your server talks to most. That is often not where you live.
  • Try the speed first. Run a free test at speedtest.net, pick a test server in that city and look at the ping.
  • You can move later. Open a ticket and we move your server for you: keep all your data for a one-time fee, or start fresh in the new location at no charge. The IP address changes, and the new location’s price applies.
  • Use it lawfully. Follow the laws of the country your server runs in, and of Germany, where our hosting partner is based. Our Acceptable Use Policy has the details.

Germany costs nothing extra; every other location adds a monthly charge that depends on the plan.
